(STATS) – North Dakota State and Eastern Washington have finalized their 2017 schedules after they moved their Sept. 16 game up one week to Sept. 9.
NDSU, the five-time defending FCS national champion, will host SWAC member Mississippi Valley State on Sept. 2 before visiting EWU a week later. The Bison will have a bye on Sept. 16 and host Robert Morris of the Northeast Conference in their final non-conference game on Sept. 23.
Eastern Washington had added a Sept. 16 game at Patriot League power Fordham. It’s a first-ever meeting between the programs, and the Eagles from the Big Sky are 2-5 all-time in games played east of the Mississippi River.
The Eagles will open their season Sept. 2 at Texas Tech.
“We had a couple of potential options,” Eastern athletic director Bill Chaves said, “but when this particular opportunity to play Fordham presented itself, coach (Beau) Baldwin and I thought that the ability to expose our student-athletes to New York City was too good to pass up.”
