NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops doesn’t buy into the notion that bringing closure to Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford’s season of uncertainty will provide any boost to the Sooners.
Stoops said Tuesday at his weekly news conference that he doesn’t believe the constant questions about whether Bradford would be able to play held back the No. 22 Sooners (4-3, 2-1 Big 12) as they suffered three early defeats this season.
However, receiver Ryan Broyles says he thinks Bradford’s decision to undergo season-ending surgery has enabled replacement Landry Jones to take on a bigger leadership role than when he was filling in for the team’s star quarterback.
