CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -C.J. Spiller’s been part of many big Clemson wins. He’s also endured several Tiger fades following critical victories.
Spiller says this time things will be different.
Clemson (4-3, 3-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) is coming off its first win over a Top 10 team in three years, 40-37 in overtime against then eighth-ranked Miami.
Spiller doesn’t not expect his team to lose focus down the stretch starting Saturday against Football Championship Subdivison opponent Coastal Carolina.
Spiller thinks past teams got caught up in early success and couldn’t regain an edge once the losing began.
In 2006, the Tigers opened 7-1 then lost four of their final five games. In ’07, they started 4-0 before fading.
