TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -The NCAA’s bid to delay a court order to release its records on academic cheating at Florida State has been rejected by the Florida Supreme Court.
In a terse one-sentence order Tuesday, Florida’s high court denied the NCAA’s emergency motion.
A circuit court judge Friday ordered the documents be released by 2 p.m. Wednesday and the NCAA turned to Florida’s high court for relief.
The Associated Press and others sought immediate release because an appellate court finalized a ruling Oct. 13 affirming an earlier decision by Circuit Judge John Cooper that the documents are public records.
Florida State has released copies from “screen shots” of documents posted on a secure, read-only Web site, but not the originals.
