ATLANTA (AP) -ACC rushing leader Tashard Choice of Georgia Tech injured his right knee and left Saturday's game against Army late in the first quarter.
The senior was hurt on a 7-yard run. He was helped off the field and taken to the locker room on a stretcher.
Georgia Tech announced at the start of the second half that Choice would not return to the game. No further details on the injury were available.
Choice left the game with 9 carries for 24 yards, including a 1-yard touchdown.
He began the day with 840 yards rushing, an average of 120 per game, to lead the Atlantic Coast Conference and rank 12th in the nation. His injury came one week after he set career highs with 37 carries for 204 yards against Miami.
With Choice out, senior Rashaun Grant and freshman Jonathan Dwyer are Georgia Tech's top tailbacks. Dwyer began the day as the team's second-leading rusher with 261 yards.
