STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) – Penn State defensive end Sean Stanley has been charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession.
University police say the 19-year-old sophomore was charged Monday with having a small amount of marijuana stemming from a police call to his on-campus apartment in late September.
Stanley had eight tackles over the first four games before being held out the last two, starting with the October 2 loss at Iowa. Coach Joe Paterno had declined comment, citing school policy.
A team spokesman said Tuesday that Stanley returned to practice last week, though he was not listed on the depth chart for the Nittany Lions’ next game Saturday at Minnesota.
A preliminary hearing for Stanley was scheduled for Nov. 17.
