TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -Alabama defensive tackle Terrence Cody was injured in the third quarter of Saturday’s game against Mississippi.
Cody was helped off the field after an Ole Miss player appeared to be blocked into the back of his legs on a running play. Trainers tended to him on the sidelines, and then he was taken off the field on a cart to cheers from Crimson Tide fans.
The junior college transfer has been a key run-stopper for the nation’s No. 2 rush defense all season. Earlier in the game, he played on offense for the first time and served as lead blocker on Mark Ingram’s 2-yard touchdown run.
