BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) -Illinois safety Donsay Hardeman was placed on a backboard and carted off the field midway through the second quarter Saturday night at Indiana.
He was injured while trying to make a tackle on Indiana’s Darius Willis with 8:26 left in the first half. It was unclear how Hardeman had been injured.
After the play, Illinois trainers quickly called for a golf cart and carefully strapped him to a backboard. Towels were placed over Hardeman’s shoulders and hands, and his face mask was removed.
There was no immediate update on Hardeman’s condition.
