MADISON, Wis. (AP) – Wisconsin’s offense got going in a big way against Minnesota in its seventh straight victory in the border rivalry.
Now the 18th-ranked Badgers (5-1, 1-1 Big Ten) look to prove they can compete with the nation’s new No. 1 team, Ohio State, in a looming Saturday night showdown at Camp Randall Stadium.
Wisconsin found success in a 41-23 win over Minnesota by relying on its offensive line.
The group opened holes for John Clay (111 yards rushing, three touchdowns) and freshman James White (118 yards, 2 TDs), didn’t allow a sack and had just two of 69 plays lose yards.
Wisconsin is 25-3 in its last 28 night games, but the Buckeyes (6-0, 2-0) pose a big threat to that mark. Ohio State won the last time it came to Madison, a night game in 2008.
