ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) – Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio has returned for his first game since a mild heart attack last month.
Dantonio was on the field during warmups, tapping players on their helmets and backs before heading upstairs to a coaching box as the No. 17 Spartans began their big game at No. 18 Michigan. Dantonio arrived at the box seconds after Trenton Robinson intercepted a pass in the end zone for Michigan State to end the Wolverines’ first drive.
About 10 minutes before kickoff, a beaming Becky Dantonio said her husband was “real good” as she walked through the press area.
Dantonio missed two games because of a Sept. 19 heart attack and a subsequent blood clot in his leg.
