WINSTON SALEM, N.C. (AP) -Jarrett Dunston threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another to lead Winston-Salem to a 34-10 victory over Howard on Saturday night.
Dunston was 11 of 16, throwing touchdown passes of 7 yards to Devven Sutton and 45 yards to Bryant Bayne as the Rams (1-4) took a 21-7 halftime lead. Dunston scored on a 41-yard run in the third quarter to give Winston-Salem a 28-7 advantage.
Floyd Haigler led Howard (1-4), going 28 of 49 for 225 yards and a 4-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Sherman.
Sutton also scored on a 2-yard run for the Rams and Bayne finished with four catches for 150 yards.
Willie Carter had 10 catches for 69 yards for Howard.
Winston-Salem’s DeRon Middleton capped the scoring when he intercepted Haigler and returned it 81 yards for a touchdown for a 34-10 lead with 6:24 remaining in the game.
