AMES, Iowa (AP) – Iowa State cornerback Leonard Johnson was taken off on a stretcher after helmet-to-helmet collisions with a pair of teammates.
Johnson collided with linebacker Jake Knott and defensive lineman Stephen Ruempolhamer while finishing off a tackle in the fourth quarter and Iowa State down 34-7 to No. 17 Texas.
Johnson landed face down on the turf. He was flipped over, placed on a backboard and taken away by medical personnel. He waved to the crowd as he left, drawing cheers.
Johnson, a senior from Clearwater, Fla., was a second-team All-Big 12 pick in 2010.
