Arizona opened the season with two routs, pulled out a huge win over a Top 10 team, then had to grind out a tough win in its Pac-10 opener.
Physically and emotionally drained, the 14th-ranked Wildcats couldn’t have picked a better time for their bye week.
After beating Cal in the closing seconds last Saturday, Arizona (4-0, 1-0 Pac-10) has 14 days before playing its next game, against Oregon State.
That should be plenty of time for the half-dozen or so starters who are nursing injuries to get better and to work on some of the mistakes that have hurt the Wildcats.
One area of concern is penalties: Arizona has 33 for 280 yards, a rarity for a Mike Stoops-coached team.
