FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) – TCU never really enjoys its early October trips to Colorado.
After playing all of its non-conference games without leaving the Dallas-Fort Worth area, fifth-ranked TCU (4-0) goes to Colorado State for its league opener Saturday.
The last couple of trips for Mountain West Conference games in Colorado have been a struggle.
The Frogs last year became a BCS buster after an undefeated regular season when they won their last seven games by at least 27 points. That stretch came after a 20-17 win at Air Force, when TCU had to recover an onside kick in the final minute.
Two years ago, Colorado State scored on its first drive before TCU recovered to win 13-7.
