NORMAN, Okla. (AP) – It’s becoming a Red River Rivalry tradition.
Each year, there’s one telltale statistic that has dictated the winner of the game between Oklahoma and Texas since 1997. The team that rushes for the most yards wins.
Here comes the tricky part. Neither eighth-ranked Oklahoma (4-0) nor No. 21 Texas (3-1, 1-0 Big 12) has been able to establish a consistent ground game this season. And both have been unexpectedly gashed by opposing rushers this season.
Whoever shores up those problems best by Saturday could be a step closer to the Big 12 South crown.
