OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -Early control of the Big 12 South is on the line this week in a pair of divisional showdowns.
No. 8 Oklahoma (4-0) and No. 21 Texas (3-1, 1-0 Big 12) meet Saturday at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas in their traditional early October rivalry game. The Sooners and Longhorns have combined to win the last six conference championships.
The other top contender in the South could emerge from a Thursday night game between Oklahoma State (3-0) and Texas A&M (3-0). It’s the only game featuring two of the conference’s six remaining undefeated teams.
All three of the North’s unbeaten teams are off this week, leaving the spotlight to shine on the South.
