WACO, Texas (AP) -Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin is done after one half against Northwestern State.
The Bears’ standout sophomore hurt his right knee on the opening drive of the game, tackled hard when he was stopped for no gain on a fourth-and-2. But he didn’t miss a snap before halftime.
After the Demons drove for a touchdown while Griffin was getting tended to on the sideline, he came back and led Baylor to its highest scoring first half in 15 years. He hit 13 of 19 passes for 226 yards and three touchdowns, and Baylor led 41-10.
Blake Szymanski took over after halftime.
School officials said Griffin’s knee would be re-evaluated Sunday.
