COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -South Carolina starting defensive tackle Travian Robertson will miss the rest of the season after tearing a knee ligament.
The school said late Friday that Robertson tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in the third quarter of the Gamecocks’ 16-10 victory over Mississippi on Thursday night.
Team physician Jeff Guy said Robertson would have surgery in a couple of weeks.
Robertson is a junior from Laurinburg, N.C. He’s had eight tackles in South Carolina’s four games this season.
The Gamecocks (3-1, 1-1 Southeastern Conference) play South Carolina State on Oct. 3.
