TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) – It’s getting harder and harder to tell this Alabama team apart from the 2009 version.
The third-ranked Crimson Tide also has a run-crushing, ball-hawking defense, a hard-to-stop tailback duo and a heady quarterback making few mistakes. Those similarities to the national title team from two years ago were certainly apparent in Saturday’s 38-14 win over No. 18 Arkansas.
Even the numbers were similar to the 35-7 win over the Razorbacks two years ago.
Life doesn’t get any easier for the Tide (4-0, 1-0 Southeastern Conference). Next up is a visit to No. 12 Florida and another assortment of speedy playmakers.
Coach Nick Saban says he’s pleased with his defense’s performance but says they have “got to play our best all the time.”
