STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) – Serious injuries have dampened the mood at Penn State heading into Big Ten play.
Star linebacker Michael Mauti is expected to miss the rest of the season after injuring his left knee in the 34-6 win Saturday over Eastern Michigan.
Cornerback D’Anton Lynn could also miss time after a scary scene in which he was carted off the field in the third quarter. Lynn was released from the hospital two hours following the game. Doctors looked at his neck and spinal column.
Coach Joe Paterno said the team needs to press on from adversity. He’s looking for reserves to step in when the Nittany Lions (3-1) open the conference slate next week at Indiana.
