NORMAN, Okla. (AP) – Bob Stoops doesn’t want top-ranked Oklahoma focused on revenge. But make no mistake, the Sooners haven’t forgotten the loss at Missouri that knocked them from the top of the BCS standings a year ago.
The Tigers (2-1) roll into Norman on Saturday night for the rematch of their 36-27 win last October in Columbia that was a key setback in Oklahoma’s pursuit of a national championship. Fans stormed the field after that victory, and the Sooners’ coaches showed video of the scene to players this week as extra motivation.
Stoops says “revenge doesn’t win.” Instead, he says his approach is to remind his Sooners (2-0) that they were embarrassed and need to play better.
