SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) -Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen says the turf toe injury to his right foot could affect his play against Purdue.
The injury affects the foot he uses to plant when making throws.
The Irish will also be without top receiver Michael Floyd because of a broken collarbone. Duval Kamara, Robby Parris and three other receivers are expected to vie for playing time.
Clausen walked a bit gingerly into his weekly news conference on Wednesday. He has a device in his shoe to help him heal. Clausen plans to practice some Wednesday and more Thursday. He says “hopefully” he’ll be ready for Saturday.
