Virginia Tech is making no apologies for what many think is an easy early schedule.
The No. 13 Hokies travel to Marshall on Saturday, wrapping up a non-conference slate that includes no teams from any of the power conferences. It came at a good time for the Hokies.
This week’s game will be just the fourth start of redshirt quarterback Logan Thomas’ career, and the same holds true for starting tailback David Wilson. The defense also has six new starters, and while many were experienced, the unit needed success to build confidence.
So far, that’s the biggest thing the Hokies (3-0) have gained from victories against Championship Subdivision foe Appalachian State, East Carolina and Arkansas State.
The Thundering Herd (1-2) is coming off a 44-7 loss at Ohio.
