Mompremier will miss at least two games, USF officials said Sunday. He will be evaluated by team doctors early this week to further assess his injuries and determine when he may be able to resume football activity.
Mompremier and teammate Carlton Williams collided midway through the third quarter of South Florida's 17-9 win. Mompremier's head and neck appeared to bounce off Williams' body, and the 6-foot-1, 230-pound Miami native fell awkwardly to the turf, where he remained for more than 15 minutes while medical personnel gently placed him on a gurney and took him off the field.
He was then flown to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was further evaluated and monitored overnight. Mompremier had movement in his limbs, but was still experiencing tingling in his neck and shoulders, USF officials said.
Mompremier has started 16 of the last 17 games for the Bulls (4-0).
