TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -What was supposed to be a how-we-stack-up weekend in the Pac-10 got off to a rough start.
The conference rallied to make it respectable.
Bouncing back from four losses in its first five games, the Pac-10 finished a solid 6-4 over the weekend. Considering four games were against ranked opponents and nine against BCS programs, that’s not too bad.
The weekend opened with Cal’s loss at Nevada on Friday night and Saturday started with Washington State’s setback at SMU and Washington’s blowout loss at the hands of No. 8 Nebraska.
The Pac-10 rallied in the night games, though, punctuated by Arizona’s win over No. 9 Iowa, Stanford’s surprisingly easy rout of Wake Forest and Oregon’s decimation of Portland State.
