 M to a 51-24 rout over Howard on Saturday.
Phillip Sylvester rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown for the Rattlers (2-1, 1-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).
M jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter when Joseph Wims returned a fumble off a snap for a 65-yard touchdown. Quier Hall followed with a 67-yard interception for a score.
Adrian Smith added a score on the first play of the second quarter when he caught a 43-yard touchdown from Battle. Kevin Elliott, who five catches for 75 yards, caught a 2-yard touchdown from alternate quarterback Curtis Pulley to put the Rattlers ahead 48-0 in the third.
Howard's Floyd Haigler completed 30-of-47 passes for 306 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions for the Bison (0-3, 0-2).
