DURHAM, N.C. (AP) -Mark Ingram took his first carry nearly 50 yards for Alabama. Marcell Dareus snuffed out Duke’s first rushing play for a loss.
Top-ranked Alabama returned two stars to its lineup, and they helped the Crimson Tide make it look easy against the Blue Devils.
That’s exactly what they needed to do before things finally get serious this week. They visit Arkansas in their Southeastern Conference opener.
Coach Nick Saban says Saturday’s 62-13 rout of Duke is “what we make of it.”
Ingram rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns, and took his first carry of the season 48 yards. He missed the Tide’s first two games while recovering from left knee surgery. Dareus was back after serving a two-game suspension, and his only tackle came behind the line.
