MIAMI (AP) – No. 17 Ohio State and Miami are about to get a three-hour respite from talk of scandals by playing each other.
Both teams will have players still suspended for Saturday night’s matchup because of ongoing investigations into violations at each school. Although the harshest sanctions are likely yet to come, the Hurricanes and Buckeyes will have deeper rosters for this game.
Miami has five players returning after one-game suspensions for taking extra benefits from a former booster. Ohio State had three players who accepted $200 from a booster at a charity event reinstated this week.
The Buckeyes still are missing four players from a memorabilia-for-tattoos scandal that ultimately led to the departures of quarterback Terrelle Pryor and coach Jim Tressel. Miami will have three more players ineligible until next month.
