NORMAN, Okla. (AP) – Here’s a sign of how far Landry Jones has come since some road struggles early in his time as Oklahoma’s starting quarterback: He now thinks away games are fun.
After losing five of his first six starts on the road, Jones finished last season with victories at Baylor and Oklahoma State before guiding the Sooners to wins in the Big 12 championship game and Fiesta Bowl.
When he looks back, he considers those road opportunities to overcome adversity as the most fun games of his career.
He will get perhaps his biggest test yet on Saturday night, when the top-ranked Sooners (1-0) play at No. 5 Florida State (2-0). Jones says it is games like these that all players look forward to.
They are also the ones that will define his legacy.
