SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) -Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis says he wants his team to have tunnel vision heading into Saturday’s game at Michigan.
Weis doesn’t want the 18th-ranked Irish thinking about recent games or the rivalry when the two schools with the best winning percentages in NCAA history meet. He expects Michigan to take the same approach a year after the Wolverines turned the ball over six times in a 35-17 loss to Notre Dame.
Weis also doesn’t believe the criticism that Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez received after the team’s 3-9 finish last year or a newspaper report about possible NCAA rule violations because of the hours players were training and practicing will be a factor.
He says Michigan’s 31-7 victory over Western Michigan showed that.
