DURHAM, N.C. (AP) -A 21-yard TD pass by Stadford Brown was all it took for N.C. Central to earn a 6-0 win over St. Augustine’s on Saturday.
The Eagles (2-1) and the Falcons (0-2) held each other scoreless through the first half. Brown lobbed his game-winner to Wayne Blackwell at 10:08 of the third quarter.
N.C. Central managed only 25 yards rushing on 33 carries to 101 yards on 42 carries by St. Augustine’s.
The teams were competitive in the air, with Brown passing for 123 yards on 8 throws for the Eagles, and the Falcons gaining 125 yards on six throws each by Anthony Brown and Kevin Williams.
