EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) – Connor Cook’s emergence has quieted many of the concerns about Michigan State’s offense.
The seventh-ranked Spartans are coming off a Rose Bowl victory last season, but even then it was the defense that led the way for the most part. However, Cook threw for over 300 yards in both the Big Ten title game and the bowl, and he was exceptional again in this season’s opener against Jacksonville State.
Now the junior faces a stern test this weekend, when Michigan State plays at No. 3 Oregon.
Coach Mark Dantonio says Cook has picked up where he left off last season and the confident quarterback still has some untapped potential.
