The college football season kicks off Thursday with plenty of unresolved questions about the role of agents in the game.
NCAA and school inquiries into possible improper contacts between agents and athletes at Alabama, Florida, North Carolina and other high-profile programs persist. Several NCAA panels are examining rules on agents to determine if an overhaul is needed.
There’s no shortage of opinions among coaches. Oklahoma’s Bob Stoops favors amnesty for college athletes who expose shady agents. Alabama’s Nick Saban wants to allow juniors to meet with agents rather than just seniors. The NFL Player’s Association forbids agent contacts with underclassmen.
