MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Wisconsin coach Gary Andersen sees the competition for the quarterback job just like one for any other position.
He's not going to make a big deal over the 23rd-ranked Badgers pick for the starting job.
The depth chart released Monday listed either Joel Stave or Curt Philips as the starter for Saturday's season opener against Massachusetts.
Andersen says he's handling the public announcement of the quarterback job just like any other position on the team, without extra fuss or fanfare. He says the quarterbacks will know going into the game who will be starting and who will be holding a clipboard.
Running back James White says the competition hasn't had an impact on rest of the offense or getting the new system down.
