CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) – Jacory Harris has one chance left. He hopes, anyway.
Harris came into his senior season at Miami looking to atone for plenty of mistakes. His penchant for throwing interceptions. His inability to get the Hurricanes into any sort of title picture. He worked for months to make his body and mind stronger.
And then came the word that he was one of 12 current players, and 72 overall, implicated by claims that former booster Nevin Shapiro was spending tons of money on players outside of what is permitted by NCAA rules.
Just like that, Harris’ college career might be over. The Hurricanes plan to reveal the Week 1 depth chart soon. Harris can only wait to see if he’s going to be allowed that last chance he craves.
