STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) -Eight Georgia Southern football players were suspended for the season opener against No. 1 Georgia.
Football coach Chris Hatcher released a statement Wednesday to announce the suspensions for a violation of team rules.
Raja Andrews, Charwell Brown, Brandavious Mann, Terrione Benefield and Damon Suggs will miss the Aug. 30 game. Zeke Rozier, Garryon Taylor and Ronnie Wiggins were suspended for two games.
Benefield and Wiggins were projected starters.
