ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez says he is just one of many people feeling anxious about the school’s date with NCAA officials.
Rodriguez planned a Friday morning practice, and then was expected to fly with university officials across the country to Seattle. On Saturday, he will defend himself and college football’s winningest program against NCAA allegations of broken rules.
The NCAA has accused Michigan of five major rules violations, all related to practices and workouts.
University president Mary Sue Coleman, athletic director Dave Brandon and Rodriguez plan to contest the allegation that the coach failed to promote an atmosphere of compliance. They have already accepted responsibility for the other four violations.
