CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -North Carolina players are back at practice, including a pair in the middle of an NCAA investigation into the football program.
The Tar Heels held their first practice Friday afternoon to open Butch Davis’ fourth season in Chapel Hill. Defensive tackle Marvin Austin and receiver Greg Little both participated in drills even as the NCAA looks into whether they received improper benefits from agents.
The NCAA revisited North Carolina’s campus this week as part of the investigation. It had notified the school of the inquiry in late June and made its first visit to Chapel Hill on July 12 and 13.
The Tar Heels open the season against LSU in Atlanta on Sept. 4.
