CHICAGO (AP) -Notre Dame’s new football coach Brian Kelly says he’s aware of the expectations that come with running the Irish football program and he’s ready for the challege.
Two weeks before the start of preseason camp, Kelly said one of his biggest concerns is building depth at quarterback behind projected starter Dayne Crist as the team adjusts to his no-huddle, spread offense.
Kelly says he also has let the players who were arrested for underage drinking at a party last weekend in South Bend know that he is not happy with the choice they made. He says they will be on a short leash this summer.
Among the 11 athletes arrested were eight football players, including backup quarterback Nate Montana.
