ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) A man who was acquitted of murder and other charges in the 2013 robbery and killing of Eastern Michigan University wide receiver Demarius Reed is facing charges in a Detroit shooting.
The Ann Arbor News reports (http://bit.ly/1gDwcFX ) 22-year-old Ed Thomas is accused of shooting at two men May 20 after he believed they were following him. Wayne County prosecutor’s office spokeswoman Maria Miller says Thomas is accused of getting out of his car and firing multiple shots.
He faces charges including assault with intent to murder. A jury trial is Oct. 13.
The Associated Press left a message Thursday with Thomas’ lawyer.
Kristopher Pratt confessed in the Oct. 18, 2013, killing of Reed, a 20-year-old Chicago native, and said Thomas participated in the robbery at an off-campus apartment in Ypsilanti.
