North Carolina has received a notice of allegations from the NCAA outlining violations in the football program.
Team spokesman Kevin Best confirmed the school had received the notice, though it hadn’t been released as of Tuesday afternoon. The NCAA had said it planned to complete its investigation into coach Butch Davis’ program this month.
The school confirmed last summer that NCAA investigators had visited the Chapel Hill campus. The probe initially focused on improper benefits but later expanded to include academic misconduct.
Fourteen players missed at least one game last season due to the investigation. Seven were ruled out for the entire year, while an eighth was cleared at midseason but decided to redshirt.
