LOS ANGELES (AP) -Southern California quarterback Matt Barkley’s throwing hand is bruised, and he’ll be able to resume throwing next week.
Barkley left the Trojans’ scrimmage last Saturday after hitting his hand on teammate Jurrell Casey’s helmet.
The school said Tuesday that Barkley has no broken bones in his hand. Barkley says the injury is nothing to worry about.
Barkley was the Trojans’ starter as a freshman during their disappointing 2009 season. He underwent wrist surgery in January, but has impressed new coach Lane Kiffin during offseason workouts.
