(STATS) – Sacramento State quarterback Nate Ketteringham has been granted a scholarship release from the program and plans to transfer.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound junior, from San Diego, made 15 starts over his first two seasons. He ranks 11th in school history with 3,391 career passing yards, including 1,977 with 13 touchdown passes as a sophomore.
Sacramento State has struggled in recent seasons, finishing 2-9 last year. Coach Jody Sears signed two transfer quarterbacks and did not retain offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Paul Peterson this offseason.
Ketteringham told Skyline Sports, “I’m basically open to everything, looking at my options and weighing the best ones, seeing where fits me best. The coaching staff is the biggest thing. I still have my redshirt year, so I can go into a program, sit out and then play my last two years.”
