MIAMI (AP) -Former LSU receiver Demetrius Byrd is in intensive care after a traffic accident in Miami.
LSU officials said the NFL prospect was in an accident Sunday, but they did not immediately release any other details.
Last season, Byrd had 37 catches for 513 yards and four TDs. He also played a key role in the Tigers' BCS National Championship during the previous season.
Byrd played at Miami Central High School, before going to a junior college.
Messages left with the Jackson Memorial Hospital and Byrd's agent were not immediately returned Monday.
The NFL draft begins Saturday.
