SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) -Notre Dame still has a lot of work to do heading into the final five spring practices.
The Fighting Irish are still flip-flopping several players at offensive guard and tackle as coach Brian Kelly installs his spread offense, three players are competing for the backup tailback job and one of Kelly’s biggest concerns is figuring out the rotation at receiver.
Still, though, Kelly believes the Irish are making progress. Kelly said after practice Friday that the players are starting to show the type of consistent effort he expects each day.
Kelly said Armando Allen has separated himself from the other tailbacks and Michael Floyd is solid at receiver. He said the rest of the pecking order at those positions probably won’t be decided this spring.
