WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) – Keyante Green scored on a 4-yard run with 2:41 remaining Saturday afternoon, leading the Gold to a 12-7 victory against the Black in the Purdue football team’s annual spring game in Ross-Ade Stadium.
Returning starter Danny Etling engineered the 59-yard, game-winning drive, mixing several short passes with some running plays.
While each offense struggled, the Black took a 7-6 lead on the final play of the third quarter on freshman quarterback David Blough’s 41-yard TD pass to junior wide receiver Danny Anthrop.
The Gold had taken a 6-0 halftime lead on 22- and 27-yard field goals from junior Thomas Meadows, each following a turnover by Black starting quarterback Austin Appleby, who is attempting to challenge Etling for the starting job in the fall.
