CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - North Carolina has hired Ron West as co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach.
West served as co-defensive coordinator for Arizona State last year. He had worked with Tar Heels head coach Larry Fedora at Baylor. He had also worked with UNC co-defensive coordinator Dan Disch and associate head coach for defense Vic Koenning at Illinois.
Fedora also juggled coaching responsibilities among his assistants. Running backs coach Randy Jordan will handle special teams. Koenning will now coach safeties, while Disch will coach cornerbacks.
Fedora hired Keith Gilmore as defensive line coach last week.
