EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) -Michigan State receiver Mitchell White has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.
White of Livonia entered his plea Wednesday in connection with an Oct. 19 fight off campus that briefly hospitalized Michigan State hockey player A.J. Sturges.
White’s sentencing is set for March 16. He faces up to 93 days in jail.
Michigan State running back Glenn Winston of Detroit faces trial on three counts of misdemeanor aggravated assault related to the incident. He faces up to a year in jail if convicted.
Michigan State officials declined to comment on the players’ status with the team.
White wasn’t listed on rosters in the late part of last season. Winston played in only one game after Oct. 19.
