SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) -Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly says the school has decided how it will handle wide receiver Michael Floyd after he received a citation for underage drinking in Minneapolis last month and the 20-year-old is working out with the team.
Kelly said Wednesday because of privacy laws he couldn’t say anything more about Floyd other than the issue had been “adjudicated and we’re moving forward.” He had earlier said any punishment Floyd might face would be decided by school administrators.
Floyd and Minnesota running back Shady Salamon, who were former Cretin-Derham Hall teammates, were cited after police were called to a fight scene involving six to 10 people on Jan. 8.
Floyd was second in receiving for the Irish last season with 44 catches for 795 yards with nine touchdowns. He missed five games with a broken left collarbone.
