STANFORD, Calif. (AP) -Stanford hired Greg Roman as its new offensive line coach, one week after Chris Dalman resigned the position.
Roman has coached as an assistant for 13 seasons in the NFL before being hired by Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh on Tuesday. Roman last worked for the Baltimore Ravens in 2007.
Roman has also worked for Houston and Carolina in his NFL career.
Roman takes over a unit that was one of the best for the Cardinal last season. Stanford (5-7) finished second in the Pac-10 with 199.6 yards rushing per game, falling one game shy of making a bowl game.
Dalman resigned last week to spend more time with his family.
